Dissertation Idea.
Hi,
I am a Horticulture student at Writtle College and we have been told to start planning our dissertation due in at the end of the third year.
I have decided to start a blog to help me log information and to share my progress with my "research".
The orchids that I will be growing are Dactylorhiza purpurella and Dactylorhiza fuschii, these are terrestrial orchids found all over the UK and Europe and some parts of the USA.
The dissertation will be about, seeing if these terrestrial orchids have a good success rate on two different growing mediums. The mediums will be called Murashige & Skoog, F522 and T849. Murashige & Skoog isn't commonly used for orchid germination but I wanted to see if it was possible. F522 and T849 are growing mediums made by a company called Phyto technologies based in Kansas, USA, they specialize in laboratory specific growing mediums, they kindly sent me some to help with my dissertation.
More information on the growing mediums will be posted shortly!
